Target Thanksgiving Feast Deals – 2014

This post may contain paid links that support this free site at no cost to you. You can see my disclosure policy here.

Until Saturday, you can get a $10 gift card when you spend $50 on groceries at Target.  As I’ve been waiting for the best deal, I’ve worked out my plan and I’m sharing it with you!  This includes some things I forgot, some things that changed at the last minute, and some things that are just a good deal at Target.

Target

1 Archer Farms Ham, approx 10 lbs – $25

2 Market Pantry Turkey Breasts, approximately 7 lbs each – $14  (they were signed at $1.19/lb but were marked $.99/lb)

1 gallon of milk – $2.68

1 bottle of Litehouse herbs – $3.50

1 can of cranberry sauce – $1

1 bag of gold potatoes – $3.50

Fresh rolls – $1.50

Total:  $51.18

Coupons to use:

$10 GC when you spend $50 – GIVE THIS FIRST

1 – $3/15 Meat Purchase

2 – $1.50/7 Market Pantry purchase

1 – $.55/1 Litehouse Products

I also have a $1/1 potato coupon that I got from a winetag.

Subtotal:  $43.63 + $10 gc

THEN, use Cartwheel offers:

10% off Market Pantry Turkey
10% off Ham
5% off Market Pantry Milk
5% off Fresh Potatoes

This should deduct about $5, depending on the weight of your meat and the price of potatoes at your store.

Don’t forget your reusable bags!  You should use at least 3 or 4 on this transaction, saving another $.15-$.20.

Subtotal:  $38.43 + $10 gc

Also redeem:

$1/1 SNAP rebate for turkey.
$.50/1 SNAP rebate for potatoes.
$.25/1 SNAP rebate for cranberries.
$.25/1 Checkout51 rebate for potatoes.
$.25/1 Ibotta rebate for milk
$.25/1 Ibotta rebate for cranberry sauce.

Final total:  $35.93 + $10 GC, or $25.93, which is a savings of 49% when the gift card is factored in.

My usual goal is to save 60-70% at the store, but for a transaction of meat, milk, and veggies, I’ll take it!

Have you bought your turkey yet?

Diabetes Awareness with Healthy Essentials #Moms4JNJConsumer #ad

November is Diabetes Awareness month.  Approximately one in three American adults have pre-diabetes and are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. In September, I went to the doctor for a full physical, my first in about 6 years. I was diagnosed with an elevated A1C, or pre-diabetes. I have to be very careful to avoid full diabetes, and this has required a few changes on my part. I am trying to take better care of myself. I’m not getting any younger, and it’s harder to lose weight. My husband has been a diabetic for 3 years. My father in law died of complications from diabetes just this past year, as well.

Healthy Essentials

Johnson & Johnson has my back, though. Their Healthy Essentials site has coupons for the products I need most. Lubriderm, Listerine, and Neosporin have all gotten a work out in my house. You can see the selection here.

According to the American Diabetes Association, diabetes can affect every part of the body, including the skin. To address skin-specific needs, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Clean and Dry. Ensuring that skin is always clean and dry helps prevent fungal growth and harmful bacteria from developing into infections. Try a gentle body wash.
  • Hydrate. Keeping skin hydrated with a moisturizing body lotion or cream helps relieve the itch associated with dry skin while preventing irritation and cracking.
  • Check and Treat. Checking skin daily for cracks, and treating problems straight away, helps prevent infections.

It’s not always easy to make the changes necessary for good health, but it is oh – so – worth it.

HEB Grocery DealsHEB has some great all around deals. They are my “staples” store – where I buy whatever I’m missing for my stockpile. HEB’s coupon policy can be found here. No doubles, no triples, no overage, etc.

*Note, as usual, HEB has lots of buy this, get this free deals. I only think these are a good deal when you need, and will use, EVERY part of the deal. Otherwise, it’s just not worth it. Usually, I can do better buying items separately.
