General Mills Mini-Mega Event

Kroger’s Mini Mega Event is going on this week (through Tuesday, at least), and I only had a chance to shop it today!  I shopped at three different stores, and did two transactions of 20 items at each store.  When you buy 5 participating items, you get a $5 catalina, making each item $1 less.  Use coupons and you can score some fantastic deals.  No shelf clearing here – most of the shelves were still full when I left.

Here’s only some what I bought (I got the tea and Purex at Randalls, but it got mixed in):

The table below shows what coupons I used and the final prices.  A lot of this stuff contains food dyes, added preservatives, etc so it’s not right for our family.  However, I know there will be food drives and people in need long after this sale is over, so I shopped accordingly.  I also counted wrong and picked up two too many items, so the flour was full price.  Hello, baking season!  Usually, I use reusable bags to group my items, but I was in my husband’s car and the bags are in my car.  Another oops!

*Edit:
1.  That table looked horrible, so I took it down.
2.  I screwed up – cake mix is not listed on the coupon that I used.  I am a horrible person, blah blah blah.  OR I misread the coupon, am exhausted, and overlooked it.  My bad.
3.  There is no 3.

So, in conclusion, I need more caffeine in my life.

Kroger stopped doubling and tripling coupons in Houston as of April 2011. There are a few things worth looking at in this week’s ad. All coupons are face value. Their coupon policy also contains a clause about the manager’s discretion, and I have found that the managers at the Kroger on Spencer and Burke use it liberally (IE they use it when they feel like it, and especially if you’re getting a good deal).
